Milk allergy

Two frequent troubles may occur in connection with milk. One of them is milk protein allergy, or milk allergy for short, which is a congenital metabolic disease that occurs during infancy usually when the baby gets cow milk for the first time. In such cases the immune-system reacts with allergic symptoms (like efflorescence or diarrhoea) to the milk protein contained in the food. Sometimes it may also happen that breast-milk contains protein ingredients that cause allergic reactions. In such cases the mother has to abstain from consuming milk.
Milk protein allergy can be outgrown during a few years, but to achieve this, the diet of the child must not contain milk protein at least for one year.
